Registered users can use the library catalogue to suggest selected titles for digitisation.
Each registered user can suggest up to 3 volumes per month using the Suggest for digitization (Navrhnout k digitalizaci) button that appears next to the record of selected titles in the electronic catalogue. A total of 50 user proposals can be accepted per calendar month, after which the system will block this option. It is possible to propose monographs, multi-volume monographs and non-periodical collections published before 2012, but not other types of documents (periodicals, music, sound recordings, graphics, cartographic documents).
The proposal also automatically excludes volumes that have been or are currently being digitized, those that can be ordered through eBooks on Demand (EOD), those stored only in preservation collections, or titles without barcodes. After the proposal, NL CR staff will examine the physical condition of the volume and decide on its suitability for digitization. The user is informed about the progress and outcome of the whole process.
Volumes subject to copyright protection are accessible only from computers located in the reading rooms and the Reference Centre of the National Library of the Czech Republic, or by remote access if they fall under the Out of commerce work (DNNT) licence.
