Visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia

The main reason for the visit was the handover of a book donation from the Republic of Croatia to the National Library of the CR, which includes a selection of contemporary professional literature in the fields of history and art history. During the meeting with the Director General of the National Library of the CR, Tomáš Foltýn, they discussed and evaluated the international cooperation of the National Library of the Czech Republic with important cultural and educational institutions in Croatia.

The meeting also included a visit to the Department of Manuscripts and Early Prints of the National Library of the CR, where the Ambassador was introduced to prints mapping Czech-Croatian cultural and political ties, especially in the Middle Ages. A pleasant professional discussion developed on this topic, as the Ambassador is very keenly interested in the older history of Bohemia and Croatia and the history of literary culture.
